About Us
Humble Camera:
Your neighborhood photography store!
Humble Camera Center was established in October 1995, on Main Street in a historic part of downtown Humble, Texas. Humble used to be small town near the San Jacinto river, but now it has been absorbed into the larger Houston metropolitan area.
Humble Camera Center has been family owned and operated for over 20 years now. Back in 1995 photo stores were quite common as most people were still shooting family photos on film cameras. Cell phones with their built in cameras was not a thing yet. But by mid 2000s, as digital took over, photo stores turned into an endangered species and started disappearing one by one.
Despite the ever changing photography business environment, Humble Camera has stuck around. We are one of the few stores in the entire country that has continued to process film (both 35 mm and 120) and make prints at our store, without a break, since 1996!
What started as a small town camera repair shop in 1995 has now grown into a well known photography business on the north side of Houston, with a large and loyal customer base.
Soon after we installed our first film processors, we added printing (which now includes prints on canvas, metal and acrylic, and even wood). A year later we added custom framing.
As digital made inroads, we continued to stay on top of the changes and provided our customers with the services they needed. This included film scanning, video transfers to digital, and stocking a whole array of used photography gear, both digital and vintage cameras and lenses.
We also created a rental department with Canon, Nikon and Sony equipment. And, of course, we continue to offer in-house camera and lens repair with the best prices and the the fastest turnaround time in the area.
So please, come visit us. Like most Ma n’ Pa stores, we have stuff stacked to the ceilings. Explore our different lighting systems, light stands and tripods. Try out our camera cases, straps, and backpacks, and see if one is a right fit for your next trip. Browse through our vintage cameras. If you have an old camera of your own, maybe something your Dad left you, you are welcome to bring it in, and we will show you how to use it. We still sell film, and we process it and make prints in-house!
Meet the Business Owners
Hello, my name is Brad Crosby. Born and raised in the Houston area I am proud to be a business owner here in the historic town of Humble, Texas.
I have been in the camera industry for over 27 years, with degrees in Electronics Engineering and Photographic Equipment Repair. Along with my beautiful wife Kimberly, I feel blessed to be able to bring down home customer service to our neighborhood store. I love sharing my passion for photography, and knowledge accumulated over a lifetime spent around the craft of creating images.
My wife and I both are involved with ministries at our church, which we love, and are thankful for our church family. We have been blessed with four great kids, nine grandchildren, and two great grand children. We enjoy the outdoors, and head out to the beach every chance we get.
Our goal is to exceed the expectation of our customers each time they visit our shop for their photography needs. Nothing brings me more joy than to see a smile on the face of my customers as they leave our store.
